Tailoring Serve: InStitchu Dress the Australian Billie Jean King Cup Team

It was our honour to dress the Aussie team for the Billie Jean King Cup, the premier international tournament in women’s tennis. 

The team features some of Australia’s most celebrated and talented sportspeople, including Ajla Tomljanovic, Priscilla Hon, Ellen Perez, Storm Sanders, Sam Stosur and Taylah Preston. The team is captained by the remarkable Alicia Molik.

For the pre-match functions the team all designed their own custom, tailored InStitchu garments, choosing the fabrics and design options that captured their style, opting for an array of different colours, fabrics, design options and fits. 

The crew noted they wanted to channel ‘girl boss vibes’ and ‘bring out the individuality within the team’. A few of the quotes from the team were particularly humbling: ‘It felt very special and exciting opening the box’, and ‘It is great to know that a quality tailor-made, Australian owned suit company is supporting us’.

Taylah Preston’s sister helped design her ‘comfortable design’ and Priscilla Hon wanted to wear something with a bit of colour and a modern ‘Australiana’ twist, noting: in the custom InStitchu garment “I felt powerful”. Alicia Molik said: “I felt a million bucks”.
